WEAPONS INSPECTOR, GIRL SCOUT TROOP LEADER, IS THERE ANYTHING THIS MAN CAN'T DO?(or won't do?)
I stole this from WSJ Best of the Web, they stole it from Time but it's worth repeating.
Scott Ritter, you may know, was the chief UN Weapons inspector in Iraq until he resigned in '98. More recently he became the darling of the anti-American left when he became a self-proclaimed "wager of peace," calling for the impeachment of the President for "high crimes and misdemeanors" for waging a war "based on a foundation of lies."
Added emphasis below is mine.
"In a September interview with Time magazine, here's what Scott Ritter had to say about Iraq's children's prisons:
The prison in question is at the General Security Services headquarters, which was inspected by my team in Jan. 1998. It appeared to be a prison for children--toddlers up to pre-adolescents--whose only crime was to be the offspring of those who have spoken out politically against the regime of Saddam Hussein. It was a horrific scene. Actually I'm not going to describe what I saw there because what I saw was so horrible that it can be used by those who would want to promote war with Iraq, and right now I'm waging peace."
An unusual stance, given his well known love for children.
